In 2019, I did fieldwork for my PhD at COP25, the UN climate conference that was re-located at the last moment from Santiago, Chile, to Madrid, Spain.
I tried to capture the ambience of this temporary, securitised space erected for climate diplomacy, right down to banal details and materialities, as well as of how the carefully choreographed negotiations are contested from within and outside. Hopefully they provide an alternative take on climate change politics!
